Because through privatization we have lost so many of the places where
communities gather, and because public space is essential to a free and
democratic society, we want to create, claim and reclaim collectively
funded, multicultural, multiracial, community-controlled progressive public
spaces, and we ask you to join us in creating democratic spaces accessible
to everyone.
