The NARJHR respects that racism affects communities and peoples in different ways and cuts across diverse struggles.
The NARJHR acknowledges that racism has created a legacy of pain in our communities and that healing must be an essential element of any movement towards racial justice.
Recognizing that conversations related to racial discrimination are challenging, the NARJHR is committed to principles of respectful struggle.
The NARJHR acknowledges that racism is an outcome of a shared colonial history which links our struggles nationally and internationally.
The NARJHR believes in the trans-formative power of human rights and acknowledges the internal contradictions that we face in this work
NARJHR is Committed to:
Creating a platform for action that moves towards ending racial disparities in communities of color.
Working in the South and Southwest as an initial strategic foundation for base building.

Ensuring human rights education is accessible to those most affected and dispersing knowledge about human rights in an effort to end racial and national oppression.
Utilizing the highest principles of human rights and the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) to advance racial justice and develop a National Plan of Action.
Creating opportunities for solidarity and leadership between oppressed peoples and different social and political struggles affected by racial discrimination.
Advancing an explicitly critical stance on neo-liberal economic policies and state collaboration as impediments to building self-sustaining communities and people’s and a plural nation/state committed to racial justice and human rights
