Resolution Summary

NARJHR is Committed to: 

  • Creating a platform for action that moves towards ending racial disparities in communities of color.
  • Working in the South and Southwest as an initial strategic foundation for base building.
  • Creating opportunities for student/youth leadership development and autonomous organization.
  • Ensuring human rights education is accessible to those most affected and dispersing knowledge about human rights in an effort to end racial and national oppression.
  • Utilizing the highest principles of human rights and the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) to advance racial justice and develop a National Plan of Action.
  • Creating opportunities for solidarity and leadership between oppressed peoples and different social and political struggles affected by racial discrimination.
  • Advancing an explicitly critical stance on neo-liberal economic policies and state collaboration as impediments to building self-sustaining communities and people’s and a plural nation/state committed to racial justice and human rights
